The Himachal Pradesh government on Friday approved the implementation of the Golden Jubilee New Sports Policy-2021. Under this, the reservation in government jobs for sportspersons in various departments of the state will be increased to three percent. Diet money will be doubled. Prize money will also be increased. Three crore for winning gold in Olympic, Cold Olympics, Paralympic Games, two crore for silver and one crore for bronze medalist. An insurance cover of one lakh will be given in case of injury to the player. After 20 years, as soon as the new sports policy is implemented, the politicians will be shown the way out of the sports federations. In their place, players will be made office-bearers. Under this policy, while special emphasis will be given on development, maintenance and use of high quality sports infrastructure in the state, sports will be promoted in educational institutions.

Players will receive training, encouragement and support to excel in national and international competitions as well. The objective of this policy will be to include scientific research in training with a view to the far-reaching development of sports. Women and men players who have excelled in the field of sports will be rewarded. The new sports policy will be carried forward with the participation of the government and the private sector. Several provisions have been made in the new sports policy to strengthen the sports federations. It has the biggest provision to form only one association for one sport. Recognition of dormant associations is to be cancelled. The approval from the cabinet meeting on the new sports policy of Himachal Pradesh has been postponed twice before. The draft sports policy was handed over to Union Minister Anurag Thakur. Anurag Thakur had suggested to make some amendments in the new sports policy.

According to the new sports policy, it has been decided to give three crore rupees to the player who has won gold in Olympic, Cold Olympics, Paralympic Games. Apart from this, a cash prize of Rs 2 crore will be given to the silver medalist, Rs 1 crore to the bronze medalist and Rs 15 lakh to the participant in the Games. Similarly, in the Asian and Para Asian Games, Commonwealth and Para Commonwealth Games and Olympic World Cup, World Championship or Para World Games to be held in four years, 50 lakhs on gold medal, 30 lakhs on silver and 20 lakhs on bronze medal. will get. At the same time, 10 lakh for winning gold medal in World University Games and Youth Olympic Games, six lakh on silver and four lakh for bronze, gold in Youth Asian Games and Asian or Commonwealth Championship, Youth Commonwealth Games and Senior National Championship or Para National Games. Five lakhs, Silver will be given three lakhs and bronze will be given two lakhs. 10 lakh on qualifying for Olympics

According to the new policy, a player from Himachal will be given 10 lakh on qualifying for the Olympics, and two lakh for participating. One crore for setting a new world record in an Olympic event, Rs 50 lakh for setting a record in Asian or Commonwealth Games and Rs 5 lakh for setting a new national record. At the same time, on receiving the Parashuram or Guru Vashistha Award, now five lakh rupees will be given.
